Something different

Imagine waking up every morning and looking at yourself and being disgusted at the body you saw or not being to be able to eat breakfast because you thought your body was obese. Sadly this is becoming a more modern issue in the world today among teenagers. When you look at all the models they seem to be getting thinner and thinner, the majority of people that do this is usually girls but some boys are looking and taking after them. The problem with taking after physically underweight models is the way that they try and adopt their body type, eating disorders such as anorexia! Anorexia can cause many different problems  with your body such as abnormally slow heart rate and low blood pressure, these are just a few problems with anorexia which can cause damage to your body. When doing some background knowledge on this deeply saddening topic I stumbled across a news item from Israel, they had banned the use of underweight models in order to try and cut eating disorders. Imagine the effect that would have on our underweight population if this law was brought to the U.K, sadly I don't see it happening any time soon for us but I would definitely support it! The worst thing about this disease is the physiological damage it does as the person suffering feels like they are overweight and never feels good enough, this mentality can become long term and lead to depression and sucidal thoughts. I'm not saying we need to stop modelling immediately and watch young people's eating, I just feel more needs to be done so young people can feel good about their bodies and have confidence in them. Bringing in more awareness about eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia would help to educate young people before they start to say to themselves 'I'm not as thin as the other girls maybe I should skip this meal.'
So yeah this was something completely different to write about I hope you all enjoyed it, feel free to tweet me @Joee_peacock and remember 'Beautiful is not underweight, beautiful should not be anorexic'

A change

Evening everyone,
As some of you may be aware I haven't posted in a long time, not really sure why because I love a good blog me! But anyway i've decided to change tact with my blogging, want to do more blogging more often so will be expressing my views about normal life. There will still be funny moments (because its my life) but also my thoughts and feelings about what's happening in my life in general. I have changed my name to 'looking into the light' mainly because the readers are now looking into the light which is my life. You're getting a new insight into what makes me tick, enjoy people!

Winter

As the more observant humans of you may have noticed it has been snowing, well in the United Kingdom anyway. As soon as the first snowflake drops from the sky it seems like Facebook just becomes engulfed with status about school closures and 'how they will be sledging with there buddys tommorow'. This is definitely the worst part of snow however nothing can match waking up and seeing snow on the ground! Nothing will ever match the feeling of throwing snow balls at people after they have been annoying for most of the day, but ice on the ground has got to be the best part! No matter how good people look on normal ground ice can change that appearance, i've seen so many people slip whilst walking on ice it gets funnier every time! From small Year 7's to Year 13's who think they have swag it's always good to watch, especially when they slip then look round to see if anyone noticed and continue to walk like nothing happened! So next time you see the Facebook statuses think about the ice....

First world problems

I'm sure everyone around the country had experienced this at some point. You're just about stream a YouTube video off the Internet, you go to click the play the button- it's playing, you've enjoyed the video for about 2-3 seconds and BAM! The dreaded buffering circle of YouTube death, now you're faced with massive dilemma, when I mean massive I mean a full blown first world problem- do you either wait and hope the buffering doesn't take forever or go onto another YouTube video and risk the same thing happening again?  If anyone's Internet is like mine I have to be alone in the house with all devices turned off to get average Internet connection. Surely the government should spend the money on HS2 into getting England some decent connection, would definitely stop all the 'no Hs2' posters because for some reason I can't see any 'no Internet' posters developing any time soon! I remember seeing on the news how someone gave birth to a child by using YouTube to show them how, imagine if you were caught in that situation it's not like you could say 'sorry love can you give me 5/10 minutes depending on your Internet connection so the video will buffer?' Anyway hope everyone reading this has an awesome Christmas and New Years I may get round to posting something in the coming week but we will shall see! Peaceeeee

Evening

Hello there,

This is my first blog so i guess that makes me a blog owner, that has a nice ring to it so i guess i will be calling myself that. I will be posting different anecdotes and thoughts in this blog and hopefully letting you get to know my life better. As the web address should suggest my names Joseph and i'm a boy, but don't worry i'm not one of these indie hipster people although i do own an aztec coat...  Anyway have a good evening I will try and post my first actual piece around the weekend.
